Arkansas State's Brandon Peterson has earned the StatSheet Sun Belt Player of the Week for the week ending February 18th. StatSheet's Sun Belt Freshman of the Week is Florida Atlantic's Stefan Moody. Peterson registered huge numbers in scoring (15.5 pts per game), shooting (90%), and rebounding (11.5 per game). The Arkansas State senior played well in wins against Arkansas-Little Rock and Louisiana-Monroe.

Peterson topped all scoring and rebounding for the Red Wolves with 20 points and 13 rebounds in a big 86-62 win against Arkansas-Little Rock. He followed that up with 11 points and 10 rebounds in a huge 87-54 win over Louisiana-Monroe.

This is the first StatSheet Sun Belt Player of the Week award for Brandon Peterson. However, he has finished second once. The runner-up this week is junior Augustine Rubit from South Alabama. Honorable mention goes to South Alabama sophomore Mychal Ammons. The highest ranking player from North Texas was Roger Franklin who finished 17th.

StatSheet Sun Belt Freshman of the Week: Florida Atlantic's Stefan Moody

Stefan Moody averaged 40 minutes of playing time starting both games for Florida Atlantic. He was number one among all Sun Belt freshmen in scoring (16.5 pts per game). In an 84-78 win over Western Kentucky, Moody registered 26 points on 81% shooting. Then in a 58-57 loss to Louisiana, he put up 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

Stefan Moody has won the StatSheet Sun Belt Freshman of the Week an astounding 5 times. Jerome Frink from Florida International grabs runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Shawn Long from Louisiana. P.J. Hardwick, who finished 5th, was the highest ranking freshman for North Texas. North Texas has one StatSheet Sun Belt Player of the Week win this season.
